Project Location

The Slauson Connect Clean Water Project is located in South Los Angeles, in the Wildasin neighborhood of Los Angeles in conjunction with the Slauson Connect Community Center site.

Project Description

The Slauson Connect Clean Water Project treats runoff from 22 acres, which drains to Ballona Creek. The project employs a suite of multi-benefit green stormwater infrastructure, which provides storage of more than four million gallons of water annually during a normal rainy season. These elements include the installation of an underground cistern along the eastern end of a City of Los Angeles-owned parcel of land between South Normandie and Budlong Avenues and the construction of two green alleys between West 56th and West 58th Streets. The green alley elements collect, treat and divert stormwater flow to the downstream cistern where the water is stored for irrigation purposes at the Slauson Connect Community Center.
