Your recycLA Service Providers (RSPs)

Before the implementation of recycLA, businesses and multifamily buildings in the City received waste collection services from unregulated private haulers. However, most did not have access to the same recycling services enjoyed by single-family homes. Since 2017, recycLA has been instrumental in making recycling available to all.

The recycLA program has provided waste collection services to over 66,000 businesses and multifamily buildings throughout the City, organized into eleven (11) zones. All commercial, industrial, and large multifamily establishments within the city limits are now exclusively served by designated waste collection companies, referred to as recycLA service providers (RSPs).

This program has successfully reduced truck congestion in our neighborhoods and minimized wear and tear on our streets. RSPs are mandated to use only clean-fuel burning trucks, contributing to the improvement of air quality in the City. Today, the program continues to have a positive impact on enhancing the overall quality of life in Los Angeles.

The recycLA initiative surpasses traditional services by offering expanded services to meet the unique needs of businesses and large multifamily customers. Numerous services that were previously unavailable to these customers are now provided, including the provision of blue bins for recycling, the introduction of new trash bins, routine maintenance and replacement of bins, graffiti removal, new state-of-the-art waste collection vehicles running on clean fuel, and the implementation of organics recycling.

If you have questions about recycLA, please call our 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489.

WASTE ASSESSMENTWaste Assessment Rep

Your recycLA service provider will conduct a waste assessment of your property and work with you to determine your optimal level of service for the lowest possible cost. The waste assessment is a thorough walk-through of your property to determine current levels of service, opportunities for recycling, and right-sizing your bins, which means determining the appropriate bin size for your needs as well as selecting the appropriate frequency of service. Waste assessments are scheduled in advance, but if you cannot be reached to schedule, your recycLA service provider will attempt to conduct a waste assessment in your absence in order to optimize efficiency. You can request a waste assessment online.
