Tips for RV Owners

Owners of a recreational vehicle have a responsibility to ensure that they adopt these good housekeeping practices related to the operation of an RV. Here are a few simple practices you can follow to assure a healthy environment as you operate and enjoy your recreational vehicle:

  • Keep up RV maintenance to reduce leakage of oil, antifreeze and other fluids.

  • Recycle your used oil, oil filters, old batteries and unwanted fluids at a Los Angeles SAFE Center.

  • Keep a trash bag in the car. Never throw trash out of your RV window.

  • Dumping waste water from recreational vehicles onto streets, into storm drains and into the ocean is illegal and harmful to public health and the environment. All who commit illegal dumping will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
